JASON GWEN, 29, born in Viet Nam and grew up in the Netherlands and Canada. He acts in English, Dutch, Vietnamese and occasionally in basic German. After studying the actor’s program at the Vancouver Youth Theatre (Vancouver, CA) and the dancer/maker program at the Arnhem institute of the arts (Arnhem, NL), he is now in his seventh season as an actor and performance maker, when creating personal work, under the collective of ARNHEMS Work.

In film he has worked with directors like Hanro Smitsman, Erwin van den Eshof, Jon Karthaus, Dennis Overeem and Marco Grandia. And on TV he was seen in series like Villa Achterwerk, Spangas and Het Mysterie Van.

As an actor he is continuously in search of new performing realities. From performing over a live video connection in Guilty Landscapes of DRIES VERHOEVEN, to standing on Utrecht Central Station for 3 months straight in SANDER BREURE & WITTE VAN HULZEN’s How can we know the Dancer from the Dance?, to living and touring in a moving train in Heimweh nach Hong Kong of DAS LETZTE KLEINOD.

Other works included T.R.A.S.H, United Cowboys, Scapino Ballet & Ellen ten Damme, Gotra Ballet, So You Think You Can Dance, Laurent Flament, Theatergroep DOX, Jonas Staal & Vincent van Gerven Oei and Nicoline van Harskamp.

The upcoming season he will be starring in his first large musical theatre production, which will be announced in the spring time of 2017.

Furthermore his latest 4 hours performance installation HOMOSEXUALITY is set to tour internationally this season, and a planned ladyboy research is set for Pattaya in Thailand.
